WhatsApp is a popular messaging application with many features that are not immediately apparent to all users. Here are some hidden features and tips you might find useful.

Whatsapp 8 Hidden Features

1. Formatting Text

You can format your text in WhatsApp by using certain symbols. To make your text bold, put asterisks (*) on both sides of the word or phrase (*bold*). To italicize text, use underscores (_) on both sides (_italic_). And to create a strikethrough effect, enclose the text with tildes (~strikethrough~).

2. Reply to a Specific Message

To reply to a specific message in a chat, long-press on the message and tap the "Reply" icon (usually an arrow) that appears on the top. This way, your reply will be linked to the original message, making conversations more organized.

3. Starred Messages

You can star important messages to easily find them later. To do this, long-press on a message and tap the star icon that appears on the top. To access your starred messages, go to the main chat screen, tap the three dots (menu) icon, and select "Starred messages."

4. Mark Messages as Unread

If you want to remember to reply to a message later, you can mark it as unread. In Android, long-press on the message and tap the "Mark as Unread" option. On iOS, swipe right on the message and tap the "Unread" option.

5. Read Receipts

By default, WhatsApp shows blue ticks to indicate that someone has read your message. However, you can turn this off by going to Settings > Account > Privacy and disabling the "Read Receipts" option. Keep in mind that if you disable read receipts, you won't be able to see if others have read your messages either.

6. Disabling Last Seen:

If you want to hide your "Last Seen" status from others, go to Settings > Account > Privacy > Last Seen and select "Nobody." This way, others won't be able to see when you were last active on WhatsApp.

7. Two-Step Verification

To add an extra layer of security to your WhatsApp account, you can enable two-step verification. Go to Settings > Account > Two-step verification and follow the instructions to set a PIN. This PIN will be required when you try to verify your phone number on WhatsApp again.

8. Muting Group Chats:

If you're part of a busy group chat that's generating too many notifications, you can mute it. Open the group chat, tap the group name at the top, and select "Mute." You can choose to mute notifications for 8 hours, 1 week, or 1 year.

These are just a few hidden features in WhatsApp. The application is constantly evolving, so there may be more features introduced in future updates.
